Sarcoptic Mange
Sarcoptic mange, or “scabies”, is a contagious skin infestation caused by a microscopic, burrowing mite. There are two types of mites that cause mange in dogs and they have different causes, concerns, and treatments.
Giardia
Giardia is a single-celled protozoan parasite that can live in the intestinal tract of humans and animals. It can cause illness such as diarrhea, vomiting, and fever and infection is referred to as giardiasis. However, many dogs infected with Giardia are subclinical and do not have diarrhea or any signs of infection.
Ringworm (dermatophytoses)
Ringworm is a fungal infection. There is no worm. Ringworm derives its name from the ring that forms from the fungal infection as it starts at one source and slowly grows outwards.
